The pulse laser is the latest form of laser beam, which enables the precise removal of impurities without damaging the base surface. The technology is suitable for various applications, such as removing rust, paint, grease and cleaning sensitive surfaces. The laser cleaning system allows for extremely easy work, without the added cost of purchasing an abrasive (e.g. dry ice cleaning) or post-treatment after cleaning (e.g. sandblasting).
To improve our company’s services, in September 2024 we acquired a new laser cleaning system from the manufacturer 4Jet. The cleaning system will help us the most in removing micro-coatings on the surface of the tools, which are created due to extremely high temperatures and the consequent evaporation of the polymer components.
It will be particularly useful for cleaning venting channels on moulds for fan wheels where uniform venting is important to achieve low unbalance and runout. We also expect a significant extension of the cleaning period for venting details in tools for injection moulding of products made of more demanding materials.
In addition to the above, the laser will also help us in the general maintenance of moulds and servicing of heat channel systems. The picture below shows the result of laser cleaning of a pneumatic closing valve nozzle, where it was necessary to change the heater.
