On April 1, 2026, a professional seminar by Knarr and Günther took place at the Medpodjetniški izobraževalni center (MIC) in Škofja Loka, organized in Slovenia by DUMIS d.o.o.

The event was part of the Roadshow 2026 project and brought together representatives of technology companies and industry professionals from the Gorenjska region. The focus was on presenting Knarr and its product portfolio, as well as providing practical insights into the use of Günther hot runner systems.

Through concrete examples, participants gained a better understanding of why hot runner systems are essential for modern plastic injection molding, how to use them effectively, and what key factors designers need to consider when developing tools.

Special attention was given to digital solutions, particularly the CADHOC configurator, which enables users to quickly prepare technical solutions, drawings, and quotations in approximately 15 minutes. Such tools significantly accelerate development processes and support faster, more informed decision-making.

DUMIS d.o.o. successfully received and installed a new coordinate measuring machine ZEISS Spectrum in March 2026, representing an important upgrade of the company’s measurement capabilities.

The delivery and professional installation were carried out by technicians from ZEISS Slovenija, ensuring precise setup and optimal system performance.

The new machine, with a measuring volume of 700 × 1000 × 600 mm, will partially replace the existing ZEISS Vista system. However, both machines will operate in parallel, enabling faster measurement execution, increased capacity, and improved operational reliability in case one system becomes unavailable.

The system is equipped with a rotary probe head ZEISS VAST XXT, allowing efficient measurement of complex geometries from multiple angles without the need for re-clamping. This significantly reduces measurement time and improves repeatability.

DUMIS d.o.o. has successfully implemented a new automated cell for processing fans and covers, supplied by Iskra AMS. The cell was first put into serial production in January 2026, marking an important step toward greater automation and digitalization of production.

The cell is capable of processing multiple types of fans and covers, with capacity adjusted according to product type, reaching up to 360 pieces per hour.

For cover inspection, the system uses advanced vision control with an industrial camera Keyence IV4 and artificial intelligence to automatically determine product compliance. Conforming parts are then automatically sorted into boxes. The system has three empty boxes available, enabling approximately one hour of autonomous operation without operator intervention.

A key component of the cell is the Weiss rotary table, which ensures precise part positioning throughout the process, along with two robots that automate critical operations:

• Cartesian robot Viper 12 (Engel)
• SCARA robot LS10-B803S (Epson)

In November 2024, we prepared a free training seminar in cooperation with the hot runner system manufacturer Günther. The seminar was also attended by the head of consultants Mr. Bremmer and the service technician Mr. Ruhwedel from the Günther company.

At the seminar, we presented the correct handling of hot runner systems, the cleaning procedure for hot nozzles and hot runner systems, and demonstrated the tools required for such tasks. After renewal of the technical procedures, we also carried out a practical demonstration of servicing open nozzles and systems with closing valve needles.

The seminar ended with an informal gathering of participants over lunch at the Marinšek Naklo restaurant.

The pulse laser is the latest form of laser beam, which enables the precise removal of impurities without damaging the base surface. The technology is suitable for various applications, such as removing rust, paint, grease and cleaning sensitive surfaces. The laser cleaning system allows for extremely easy work, without the added cost of purchasing an abrasive (e.g. dry ice cleaning) or post-treatment after cleaning (e.g. sandblasting).

To improve our company’s services, in September 2024 we acquired a new laser cleaning system from the manufacturer 4Jet. The cleaning system will help us the most in removing micro-coatings on the surface of the tools, which are created due to extremely high temperatures and the consequent evaporation of the polymer components.
